We were delighted to receive a video from Vanessa Thomas featuring a very recent visit to our canal, below. Here is the poem she wrote about us:
Wendover Work
Said Goldfinch One to Goldfinch Two,
” Have you seen this muddy view?”
And cast its eyes to down below,
Where once the water used to flow.
“Indeed I have,” said Two to One,
” Work on this has well begun,
I watch the workers regularly,
Whilst I’m eating seeds for tea.
“Then Goldfinch Three joined the charm,
Along the old Wendover Arm
And whilst each goldfinch pecked away,
The volunteers worked through the day.
