Our Towpath in Autumn

With no restoration scheduled at the moment our Volunteers have taken to enjoying the pleasure of autumn walks along the Wendover Canal Towpath.

Here’s some photographs of the wildlife seen on their recent wanderings.

Please remember that the Towpath from Wendover to Halton has undergone a major upgrade.
Also that the Towpath section from Little Tring Road to Bridge 4 has also been improved.
Allowing greater accessibility during the autumn and winter periods.

Fieldfares have arrived at the canal. Member of the Thrush family and resident of Scandinavia, that is until the berries run out.
Then it’s a dash across the North Sea to eat ours.

By the look of this Sloe bush, these two Fieldfares have hit the jackpot!

Also arriving Brant Geese, probably from Greenland.

Distant shot of a Great White Egret on the banks of Wilstone Reservoir.

Absolutely no idea what these Mallards are up to.
Some sort of picket line?
