We’re making rapid progress in May 2021 with Pipe Capping. (Pipe Capping is the construction of a concrete raft to protect the canal from the possibility of collapse into the old pipeline). And brick-laying continues to restore the walls of the old Bridge 4. Up to Friday 14th, we had already laid nine 4-cubic-metre loads of ready mix concrete. The first 2 pictures below (by William Mathew) show Friday 14th’s three loads. In the first week we approached the first corner, Little Tring side of Bridge 4. Then we got round the corner with six more loads in the second week. The last picture from Tony Borrill shows some of the volunteers and concrete on Monday 17th, shortly before we all got soaked!
