Wendover Arm Trust were delighted to welcome Countess Verulam, Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire and Deputy Lieutenant Derek Townsend to see restoration progress and meet volunteers on September 6th 2016
Lady Verulam joined us at Bulbourne and was able to see the current navigable section of the Arm to Little Tring from the water on n/b Muttley by courtesy of Marion & Michael Birch and then toured the work site as far as bridge 4a seeing work in progress.
She was accompanied by Deputy LL Derek Townsend, Chris Sargeant Chairman of WAT, James Clifton CRT and Margaret Dunn events volunteer and Marion & Michael Birch. Ray Orth led her along the towpath to describe and show the restoration process and she met with Roger Leishman, WAT Restoration Director and Dr David Fletcher WAT President.
A delightful visit by Countess Verulam whom we look forward to welcoming again when the next stage of restoration is complete. Grateful thanks to Marion & Michael Birch for use of Muttley for the day.
