On Sunday 13th November a small team of Wendover Canal Trust volunteers placed almost 1000 heavy concrete blocks in a morning.
This video shows us placing 2 packs of them totalling 144. It was filmed by WCT Volunteer Kevin Bennett using a carefully placed phone.
The blocks are delivered to site by backing a dumper and trailer for some distance, a skilled job in itself.
These blocks will all be below the water line. They are necessary to protect our new waterproof Bentomat lining from damage, and to weight the lining down.
Our volunteers are restoring the Wendover Canal near Tring, Hertfordshire, UK.
