Wendover Arm Trust today announced its support for the Aylesbury Canal Triangle. This is a project promoted by Aylesbury Vale District Council to create a triangle of improved footpaths. The towpaths of the Wendover and Aylesbury canals form the majority of these footpaths.
The IWA’s Mikk Bradley has provided a PowerPoint slide showing in detail, the water flows around the Grand Union Canal’s Tring Summit, reservoirs, and Wendover Arm. The Canal & River Trust and Wendover Arm Trust are jointly applying for a Heritage Lottery Grant which if successful will enable use of a contractor to supplement our volunteers work, expedite completion of the present phase of restoration and more than double the present navigable length of the Arm to approx 3 miles.
