April 2018 – Still too wet

Our restoration site on the Wendover Arm was still too wet for construction – wetter than ever in fact.  So in April we mostly continued tidying up the hawthorn, bramble and old man’s beard.  The first two pictures by Steve Bonser show the improvement we made on Sunday near the Little Tring cart-track entrance.  The last picture by Tony Bardwell shows the large amount of tangled mess which we carried to the tip site (the triangular hollow near the current navigable end of the Arm).
Please be assured that what we’re tidying is so rampant throughout the Chilterns, that even the National Trust removes it. Roger’s bi-monthly news is also below.
